Before the Fall and Spring quarters, the Community Counseling Clinic and Practicum and Internship Coordinator will host a Practicum Orientation for all practicum students. The CCC Internship Program orientations are held separately, before the start of the academic year. Attending these trainings is mandatory and a requirement for seeing clients.
While students will be responsible for the knowledge and procedures covered in this website, the CCC Policies and Procedures Website does not function as an adequate alternative to these orientations. Below we include a full list of the preclinical trainings and orientations required by the Community Counseling Clinic.
If for any reason you are unable to attend your respective orientations, you must arrange an alternative to the orientation with the Practicum and Internship Coordinator and the Clinic Director.
In order to see clients, all counselors must complete the following:
Review and understand the Community Counseling Clinic's policies and procedures website completely.
Attend Practicum Orientation or Internship Orientation and Trainings provided in partnership between the Community Counseling Clinic and the Department of Counselor Education.
Including mandated reporter training
Provide the Clinic Director with proof of liability insurance
Pass the Community Counseling Clinic Operations Quiz with a 100%.
Provide the Clinic Director with proof of Pre-clinical Class Requirements completion (provided by PIC).
Provide the Clinic Director with proof of Pre-clinical Individual/Group Counseling Requirements completion.
Provide the Clinic Director with proof of Pre-clinical ETC Requirement completion.
Provide the Clinic Director with the Ethical Use of Technology Agreement prior to using clinic recording system, Zoom, and/or Titanium.
Complete the Criminal Background Check clearance (provided by the COE).
