Without exception, all counseling sessions are recorded. If a client does not agree to video recording, call in the Clinic Director or Practicum Instructor and they can talk further with the client. Additionally, Community Counseling Clinic (CCC) counselors should make the length of counseling an early conversation, document the anticipated length of time clients agree to be involved in counseling.
All CCC counselors should arrive at least 10 minutes early for all appointments. CCC counselors in practicum are welcomed to wait in the group supervision room for their sessions, but should not crowd around the waiting area in anticipation of their clients' arrival.
CCC interns are welcome to wait in their counseling rooms. CCC counselors awaiting client arrivals must keep noise to a minimum.
No CCC counselors should be waiting for clients inside the observation room or in the client waiting area.
First Appointments | All CCC counselors must ensure the following are completed at the initial session:
The Community Counseling Clinic recommends counselors ask, "Is anyone waiting for [counselor's name]," when meeting their clients in the waiting area.
CCC counselors must complete the Informed Consent for Services Agreement.
For Telehealth Services, counselors should accept ONLY the client from the ZOOM waiting room. Counselors should double check names against the Titanium record.
The client must sign the digital copy of the Informed Consent after reviewing each section with the counselor, and after they have had their questions answered to their satisfaction. The counselor can provide a printed copy to the client.
End of Appointments | All CCC counseling appointments are 50 minutes long. CCC intern appointments must start at the top of the hour. Once finished, the counselor must escort their client back to the waiting area.
CCC counselors must not exceed the 50-minute session limit.
Exceeding session limits may interfere with the proceeding appointment for CCC interns and may result in the Clinic Coordinator or Clinic Director lightly knocking on the counselor's door. Further consultation regarding the clinical implications of exceeding the 50-minute session limit is recommended with Practicum Instructor or the Clinic Director.
After each session, all CCC counselors must complete the following:
Clinical Case Note (Or ancillary note if the client does not attend)
Any Data Forms (Informed Consent, Service Plan, Termination Summary)
Providing their faculty supervisor with the client's payment
