What are private schools and their characteristics?
Private schools are schools that are funded through the tuition of their students and not the government. Whereas public schools are funded by the government. Private schools have specific characteristics that make them so different from public schools. Tuition fees are one of the commonly known characteristic public schools because of how expensive they tend to be. A big characteristic is the extracurricular activities that come with being in a private school are the extracurricular activities and sports. Private schools tend to focus on sports, along with strongly encouraging them among their students. In sports and extracurricular activities, students learn how to work together and support their teammates (Admin, 2023). Not only do private schools address the academic development of students, but they also address the social and emotional development. This characteristic helps student’s mental health, along with building resilience (2024).
What are the advantages of private schools?
Private schools are held to a higher standard due to the advantages the schools have. The class sizes of private schools are significantly smaller compared to public schools. This allows teachers to get to know their students and their learning styles, along with being able to take the time to distinctly go over certain topics for students in need of it (Gangloff, n.d.). Another advantage that private schools is the resources that private schools have over public schools. Due to the funding and tuition of private schools, they can afford the newer technology and other educational resources to better their students' education in the most efficient way. These resources lead to more educational opportunities for private school students (Maga, 2023). Private schools have stricter rules and regulations when it comes to the behavior of students. They maintain a high standard for discipline and respect (Maga, 2023). This advantage ensures that students get the proper guidance and structure they need to succeed.
How does private and public school education differ?
The education provided in public schools outshines the education given in public schools. In private schools, they tend to focus strongly on a broad range of subjects and topics. Ensuring that they are not limiting or capping the students' variety of educational topics. Public schools tend to focus on certain subjects and topics, depending on state guidelines. This limits a student's education by picking and choosing what is being taught and the possibilities for more specialized classes (Riviera Schools, 2019). Teachers of public schools follow the Common Core teaching method, this tends to speed up the course material due to having to teach certain subjects by certain times. Private schools are able to use conversational techniques which help improve students ability to communicate and decision make (Riviera Schools, 2019).

How I used AI?
I used the AI generator Chat GPT. I used it to brainstorm ideas and do research on certain topics. This is not AI generated work because I did not use the words and phrases given by Chat GPT. I only used what Chat GPT gave me for ideas and concepts. Overall, I feel that ChatGPT didn't necessarily make my process shorter or easier. It just gave me more ideas and recommendations. I do think that it has enhanced my lesson overall because it gave me things I didn't think about.
