Hey Peyton, I enjoyed reading your powerpoint. I also agree with not being able to make everyone happy like the parents, but as future teachers we have to learn how to handle different situations like that. Good Job! -Yasmeen :)
Hi Peyton, I loved that you mentioned that children can be extremely smart, and I agree with you that it is fascinating how their little brains work. I think it's amazing how children are much more out of the box thinkers then adults are they are able to absorb so much knowledge very quickly. They really are just little sponges soaking up everything around them! -Soledad
I thought your comments about coming down to a students level but still talking to them like they are an adult was really wise and I think your students will love this about you. I always saw it as either treat them like an adult or treat them like a kid but your strategy kind of mixes the two together which I love because it holds your authority but also gives the students the respet they deserve. - Ian Halteh
Hi Peyton, I thought the way you spoke about the students was very inspiring! I am in the same boat where I feel like what I have to learn is how to manage a classroom full of young students. As new teachers, that can feel overwhelming, especially when you have a passion for the kids and just want to be their friend or someone you can rely on. Being that and an authority figure can be difficult to balance. Great powerpoint! -Peter Ortell
As someone who is also from the 757, born and raised from Virginia Beach, I wonder if you ever noticed the different between the school systems. I was talking to one of my close friends from Chesapeake and we realized the Virgnia Beach and Chesapeake school system is different. I also like how you mentioned you can create a warm, safe environment, personally I believe the environment you put a student in plays a big role in a student's academic career. "Always try and be a better person than the day you were before," is a tough saying to live by. Education is virtually progress in knowledge, everyday students (hopefully) attend school to seek improvement in their skills and knowledge. Keep up the great work. - Rj Mendoza
