My name is Ella Head. I am a sophomore at Old Dominion University. I am studying Elementary Education. Sciences and arts are extremely interesting and fun. Working with children is a really big deal to me and I can't wait to be able to teach and raise them. I enjoy airsofting, playing Magic the Gathering, DND and Pathfinder, football, reading, music, and animals.
I would like to think I know a bunch of things, but I know I don't know nearly enough. I have a good amount of academia and experience under my belt. I have been working with children since I was twelve years old and have been taking children development and education classes since I was a senior in high school. I have several certifications for being a daycare teacher. I also know a lot about online and homeschooling. I intend to delve deeper into online schooling in this textbook.
I know there is so much more that I have to learn. I need to finish taking the classes required to get my bachelor's in Elementary Education, I need to get real life experience in being a teacher in a real school setting, and I need to learn how to be an adult after college. And I most certainly need to brush up on the topics I learned in elementary school and how to teach it at a lower grade level now that I know it at a more advanced grade level.

Original Prompt: A teacher is connecting with her class using art and science to teach them.
AI-Enhanced Prompt: The best teachers in our classrooms, the ones who connect with their students on a deep, artistic and scientific level, weaving together themes of artistry and science to enhance the educational experience for all. Their lessons are lively and engaging, incorporating a blend of activities such as art displays, science experiments and demos, creating a dynamic and enriching environment for learning and discovery. These educators not only share their own enthusiasm and knowledge, but also invite student engagement and collaboration in the classroom on a range of subjects from the arts and science spectrum. The setting is alive with discovery and imagination, sparking curiosity and creativity in the minds of both the educator and the student, enhancing the overall atmosphere of the classroom and the connection between the instructor and the pupils.
The kind of teacher that I want to be is a hands-on teacher. I want my students to be able to think critically at a younger age. I want to teach them how to look at things in a new way and ask provoking questions. I also want my students to work for their answer, in the sense that they go a look for this answer with tools and ideas that I have given them to be able to do this. I want my students to be able to take charge in the classroom. I want to become the teacher who can make this happen for my students.
I believe these "wants" I have, align with a student-centered classroom and that I have a mix of educational philosophies; the two being Progressivism and Existentialism.
How I used AI: I used AI to generate the image above using the prompt above as well. I did this to showcase the kind of teacher I will be and how it relates to my teaching style. I currently don't have a concrete style, but I know it involves the students taking charge and using science and art to do so.

Hi! I love how your teaching philosophy is aligned with allowing your students to take control and be hands-on! I agree and I want my students to make the most out of their time at school with hands-on activities! I also really love your AI photo it looks good and regular and not weird. - Morgan Colston
Hi Ella! I also have a deep interest in homeschooling. I actually picked that for my Wikibook topic! I plan to teach in a public/private school until my kids are of school-age, then if all goes according to plan, homeschooling my kids and perhaps a few other kids of similar age to mine. I also think a hands-on teacher is the best kind of teacher. While there is a place for lecture-type teaching, I think elementary education definitely benefits from a hands-on style.
Good Evening,
I love that you want to be a hands on teacher. I feel that is the best kind of teacher! To be hands on allows you to have a good rapport with you students. It also allows you to have excellent classroom management. Well said and well done! Gabrielle Bullock
