I'm Anastazia Jackson. I am an Afro-Latina adolescent education major with a concentration in social studies, aspiring to become a middle/high school social studies/history teacher originially from NYC and my 2nd home VA. I'm a college education student by day and a multi-disciplinary creative by night. I'm a music artist, nail artist, DJ, videographer, content creator, and creative director. I am the youngest of 7 siblings (wow, I know lol) and love to teach kiddos like my nieces and nephews and my mentees.
I grew up making songs and being in chorus and drama club since a kiddo. Now I make and perform my own music + produce for others. I also just debuted my DJing after learning in 12 days.
I own a brand called Nostalzia, est 2020. There's Nails by Nostalzia, Nostalzia Beauty, and Welcome2Nostalzia, which are mainly nail/beauty related with some clothing merch.
I also run Nostalzia Archive which is where I do my videography. I film, edit, and direct all of them myself.
I know that kiddos are usually not seen as mini humans in training and that adults believe that they shouldn't have a say because "they are just kids". I know how to put my ego down and look from different perspectives.
My kiddos in my class will have a voice. I will allow them to feel included and human. Collaboration and Empathy for others will be taught and promoted in my class.
History CAN be boring, that's the real. But, it also CAN be fun with a little push.
I know ways I can do that especially with my creativity. Projects, songs, creative storytelling, debates, roleplaying, acronyms can exercise their brains to make the content stick.
Fun Fact: My mom was a medical assistant educator and wanted a way to help her students remember for the EKG. I came up with a song and she taught it to her students the next day and they all passed and come up to her to this day about the song, lol.
Usually I'm great with kiddos and teaching them but I can be too nice sometimes. I'm honestly not sure how to handle certain students who are kind of stiff with their learning. I want to learn different methods and how to adapt for them to learn cause all kiddos deserve to learn and unlock their passion for learning.
I know, I know. How are you a Virgo but you don't know how to stay organized?? I'll be honest, I try my best to stay organized but sometimes I run off track and get a little too lost in the sauce especially when there's a lot going on. I want to be able to really adult and become a neat and organized teacher.
Lesson Planning is a confusing concept to me. The having to read the vaguest standards and convert that into a lesson plan that actually gets through to your students is kind of scary. Lesson planning is definitely something I want to be able to understand and be able to do.
I will become the cool history/social studies teacher that my students can always feel comfortable to come to. I will follow mainly a essentialism + philosophy. My cute lil pic to the left is me and my students doing a project. The sponges on the desk signify my students as children are sponges that soak up what they're exposed to and their environment.
I used Canva AI for the cute cartoon pic of me and my students having fun doing a project. I got lucky and only had to edit my prompt 3 times for AI to give me what I wanted haha.

This is a good start to your page. I like the way you have put your information down to keep it engaging. You are very creative in your endeavors. I know you will make a good teacher in the future. You just need to add the rest of the sections, and more pictures. Eugenia Wisneski
