Lunch Menu # 3 (Week of December 1-4)
Dear Elementary Parents and Community,
Today is Thanksgiving Day in the United States, where I am from. It has always been my favorite holiday because it invites us to pause and reflect on what we are grateful for, while also spending time with family and friends.
As I move through my fourth and final year as your principal, I am especially grateful for my colleagues, our wonderful students, and all of you. Whether you observe Thanksgiving or not, I hope you find time this week to rest, connect, and enjoy meaningful moments with your families.
Decades Day - ES Spirit Day
Last week we celebrated Decades Day in the elementary.
Celebrating Traditional Slovenian Breakfast
Last Friday, we celebrated the traditional Slovenian breakfast. The event highlighted two important themes: teaching children the value of a healthy morning meal and helping them understand the importance of eating locally sourced foods.
We also used this occasion to honor the vital role bees play in sustaining life on our planet. Students shared reports on how bees support a healthy environment, crafted candles from beeswax, and enjoyed a simple, wholesome meal of bread, milk, honey, and apples. The Slovenian Ambassador was there to join in on the festivities!
Virtual Learning Day - Tuesday, January 13
We will hold a virtual day of learning on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. All classes will take place online with students working from home, except for Preschool and Kindergarten, who will be on campus as usual.
Please ensure your child has access to a laptop or tablet for the day, and check that the camera, microphone, and headphones are working properly. This virtual day serves as a practice run in case weather or other circumstances (such as snow) prevent us from accessing campus in the future.
Here’s what you and your child can expect:
Schedule:
Students will follow their regular daily schedules online. They are expected to be present and fully engaged during their usual class times.
Live Sessions:
All live (synchronous) lessons will take place on Google Meet at the regular times. Links for these sessions can be found HERE.
Assignments & Materials:
Assignments, resources, and instructions for the day will be posted on Seesaw. Students should begin their day by checking their Seesaw tasks.
Attendance:
Attendance will be taken in every class.
Classroom teachers will also send home a detailed letter outlining the day’s schedule and including all necessary links.

We would appreciate it if they came on the evening of the performance with the specified hairstyles.
