Lunch Menu # 1 (Week of June 8-12)
Dear Elementary Parents and Community,
We had a fun-filled week with performances, moving-up ceremonies, and spirit! Today, students dressed up in their favorite ice cream flavor, and we treated them to ice cream. They came dressed up for a vacation and one day with crazy hair. Tomorrow is rainbow day, and each grade level is supposed to wear a specific color. We will end our week with the spring performance for our fourth and fifth graders and the fifth-grade moving-up ceremony.
Please note that dismissal on the last day of school is 11:45 am. We will serve pizza to all elementary students on the last day of school. Your children may bring a snack and a water bottle or their own lunch if they prefer.
PYP Exhibition
One of the highlights of our Grade 5 year is the PYP Exhibition (PYPX), the culminating project of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. Through the Exhibition, students engaged in an in-depth inquiry into a real-world issue or topic they are passionate about. Working collaboratively, they conducted research, interviewed experts, analyzed information, and took meaningful action based on their learning. The Exhibition provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, attributes, and attitudes they have developed throughout their years in the PYP. We are incredibly proud of the dedication, creativity, and critical thinking our Grade 5 students have shown throughout this process and look forward to sharing their learning with our school community. The topics of research included sustainable cities, preventing deforestation of the rainforests, working to prevent poverty and hunger, caring for bees and endangered species, fashion and the toll it can take on the environment, and more.
Featured Learning - Macedonian Language
In honor of May, the Month of the Macedonian Language, students in Grades 3–5 had the opportunity to participate in engaging reading workshops organized in collaboration with renowned publishing houses.
These workshops inspired students to engage in meaningful discussions. They also provided valuable opportunities to strengthen ATL skills, including communication, social, and thinking skills, while fostering a lifelong love of reading.
We are grateful for the opportunity to connect literature with real-life experiences and meaningful learning.
Smart Screen Series -
This week, we will focus on summer screens. This is the last article in our Smart Screen series.
Introducing ManageBac in Elementary School
As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening communication and documenting student learning, we are excited to share that our Elementary School will be transitioning from Seesaw to ManageBac beginning in the 2026–2027 school year. ManageBac is a learning platform used across many IB schools worldwide and will help us create a more connected experience for students, families, and teachers across all divisions of the school.
We recognize that any new platform requires time to learn and adjust to. For this reason, the implementation will be gradual, with a phased rollout throughout the year. Training and support will be provided for teachers, students, and parents to ensure a smooth transition and to help everyone become comfortable using the new system. We will share additional information, resources, and opportunities for parent support as we move closer to the start of the school year. We appreciate your patience and partnership as we embark on this exciting next step together.
With this, I wish you a great week ahead.
Warm regards, Julie
