Lunch Menu Week #3 (September 1-5, 2025)
Dear Elementary Parents and Community,
This week, we welcomed our preschoolers back, and our kindergartners started full days. With this soft launch, there wasn't a tear in the house! Meanwhile, the other students have moved into a smooth routine with most of them in the classrooms ready to learn at 8:00 sharp. Thank you for getting your child to school at 7:45.
MTSS and SPARK Time
Since last spring, we have been preparing to launch MTSS—a Multi-Tiered System of Support—in kindergarten and first grade. MTSS is a proactive framework that integrates data and instruction to maximize student achievement while also supporting social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
MTSS includes three tiers of support:
Tier 1 – Core Instruction: What all students receive.
Tier 2 – Supplemental Interventions: Targeted support for students who need additional help.
Tier 3 – Intensive Interventions: Specialized support for students with significant needs.
As part of this framework, students will participate in SPARK Time (Support, Practice, And Reinforce Key Skills). Three days a week for 30 minutes, students will move into small, flexible groups to receive instruction at their academic level. For some, this will mean additional support, while for others, it will mean enrichment. These groups are fluid and will change regularly based on student data and individual needs. As the year progresses, we will gradually add other grade levels.
Early Drop Off
If you drop your child off at school before 7:45, there will be no supervision available. If you do need to drop off your child early, please do so at the upper school entrance. Students can stay with our security team.
Beacons of Belonging Club
We’re thrilled to announce that the Beacons of Belonging Club is back at NOVA. This special club is open to all students in grades 1-5 and is all about celebrating kindness, friendship, and inclusivity.
In the Belonging Club, students will:
Help create a positive and welcoming environment at NOVA
Celebrate each other and what makes us all special and unique
Plan Assemblies and Spirit Days for Elementary School
Everyone is welcome in the Beacons of Belonging Club! Whether you’re excited to make new friends, want to make a positive difference at school, or just want a fun place to hang out, this is the club for you.
The application process will include a written statement about why students would like to join.
Meeting Days are as follows:
Wednesdays during the lunch period
Friday during regular ASA hours (2:55-3:55 pm)
Let’s build a school community where everyone feels they belong!
Tutoring Program
To further support students who may need academic reinforcement outside of their regular class time, NOVA offers the possibility of individualized tutoring with our faculty and staff after the regular school day. The process is simple:
Student ID Cards
Some of your children have lost their student ID cards. They need to have their cards to access the campus and to exit. Please take care to order a new card for your child if needed. We have given them a grace period thus far, but will soon hold them accountable. NOVA ID Card: You can request a replacement or an additional ID card here.
School Supplies
If you have not yet ordered your child's school supplies for the 2025-2026 school year, please do so.
ES Supply List (K–5): List of the supply sets here. Purchase from the school here or provide independently following the grade-level list.
Upcoming Events
