Lunch Menu # 2 (Week of November 24-28)
Dear Elementary Parents and Community,
I am pleased to share with you that our first through fifth graders will perform the musical, SMURFS, for our ES Winter Performance. This is a very special time for us in the elementary school, as the arts are highly celebrated at Nova. Last week, I shared with you the general outline of the rehearsal schedule and the performance date/time. Each grade level will perform an act in the play. They will either sing, dance, or participate in both. The main characters are students who have been in the Drama Club. We have a rehearsal scheduled for Monday, December 8. This is a holiday, but we must prepare the students for the larger theater. Teachers will communicate the specific rehearsal schedule. On Tuesday, December 9, we will return to the theater and have another full rehearsal. We will return to school by noon. All students will be dismissed early at 1:00 on this day. This will allow students time to get home, have a good meal, and relax before returning to the theater at 5:00 pm. There will not be ASAs, after-school activities for any child, on Tuesday, December 9. Child Care will be open from 1:00-5:00 pm.
After School Activities Program (ASA)
The After School Activities Program (ASA) Trimester 2 will start on Monday, November 24. Featured Learning
Sharing the Planet - Grade 4
In the fourth-grade PYP unit, Sharing the Planet, students explored solar, wind, and hydro energy, and used this knowledge to create their own sustainable cities. They also applied what they learned about what makes a city “green” and the choices communities can make to reduce pollution. Their work shows our central idea in action: People make choices that balance human needs with sustainable energy use. They invited parents to school on Monday to share their projects and their learning.
