Lunch Menu # 3 (Week of March 23-27)

Dear Elementary Parents and Community,

Our Beacons of Belonging Club members hosted a wonderful assembly this week focused on friendship. Students shared a fun and inspiring YouTube video about “Friendship Soup,” which highlighted the ingredients of being a good friend.

They also introduced our new Buddy Bench, a special place where students can sit during recess if they are looking for someone to play with. The Beacons of Belonging members painted the bench themselves and proudly presented it to the school on Wednesday.

We are so proud of their leadership in helping make our school a more welcoming and inclusive place for everyone.

Featured Learning

First and Second Graders Are Introduced to AI

To help students develop a basic understanding of emerging technologies, the RAIL team continued introducing the concept of AI to Elementary School students. Grade 1 and 2 students explored what AI is and how it works in simple terms. They learned that AI systems rely on human input and guidance, and participated in an activity that demonstrated how technology can learn information through human training. The focus was on understanding innovation and the importance of using new technologies responsibly and ethically.

Parent Teacher Conferences Sign Ups

Our second round of Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place on April 2 (10:00-5:00) and 3 (8:00-3:00). Please note that there will be no school for students on these days. We invite you to sign up for conferences using the links below—first with your child’s homeroom teacher, and then with each of their specialty teachers. We strive for 100% parent participation, as we deeply value the partnership between home and school in supporting each child’s growth and success.
