Miles For Wellness Challenge Results
I am sharing the final updates from OSHR for the Miles For Wellness Challenge 29. Our teams' results are below. Thank you all for your participation and support! For those who participated, you will receive your certificate at the next CIPM Monthly Staff Meeting.
Thank you to all who participated in Miles for Wellness Challenge 29: Slam Dunk! With 414 teams competing from more than 45 agencies, universities and community colleges across the state, the competition was tough this challenge.
Remember, no matter where you finished in the final results, the real victory is that you are now more aware of your activity levels and can continue to prioritize daily movement as an essential part of your lifestyle.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM MILES FOR WELLNESS NEWSLETTER:
"Having to keep track of my daily steps has helped me see that I need to take more breaks from my desk and computer screen, especially when I'm teleworking. And I hope this challenge has inspired all participants to do the same!" - Victoria Haas, Crafty Nerds of SLNC from Dept. of Natural and Cultural Resources
"We have been sharing wellness posts in our office blog, and we posted this week about the ways our team members stay active. One of our team members participated in the spring disc golf league on Centennial Campus and came in first place!" - Carrie Rogers, CIPM Team Green Lacewing from NC State University
"As a team, we increased on steps from Challenge 28 by 2,481,506. We call that a win!" - Stacey Adams, Perambulating Proletariats from Dept. of Natural and Cultural Resources
"Even though this has come to an end, it has inspired me to continue, especially when I see the weekly totals. When I noticed I didn't do great, it motivated me to do better the following week." - Karla Liboreiro, Walkin' On Sunshine from UNC-Charlotte
"Teammate Matt Travers hiked/ran from the south rim of the Grand Canyon to the north rim and then back to the south rim, collecting nearly 50 miles in one week!" - Karen Johnson, Outdoor Health and FitMess from Dept. of Natural and Cultural Resources
