“I have two doctors, my left leg and my right.” – G.M. Trevelyan
Walking, the most ancient exercise and still one of the best modern ones. Be it the early birds or the night owls, walking a few miles a day has proved to be one of the best forms of exercise which would keep a lot of physical and mental issue at bay. And here’s why NC State comes with another challenge, for you to team up with your favorite folks, to walk your way to another fitting victory.
As part of NC State’s wellness program, we encourage employees to be physically active during their regular working schedules. Be it daily early morning walks, a mid-day stretch or a stroll in the park after work, the wellness program encourages employees to indulge into these challenges which would improve the overall health of the employees.
“A vigorous five-mile walk will do more good for an unhappy but otherwise healthy adult than all the medicine and psychology in the world.” – Paul Dudley White
As the above quote says, walking daily for about 10,000 steps or five miles improves the physical as well as mental health of a person. And with this program, one gets a chance to not only improve their physical fitness, but get a chance to share their ideas and experiences with their co-workers. The program also gives a bunch of resources to the participant to take a look into ones nutrition choices and other available fitness regimes.
