Discover Wellness

Last weekend my kid (Minh) and I hosted our "Little Sister" (one of our friends who is in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program that we volunteer with) and we took a road trip to the North Carolina Mountains. We spent the day Saturday hiking, visiting the cute little town we were visiting, stopping to get some delicious ice cream, and enjoying the quiet of the mountains and fresh air. Our "Little Sister" lives in the city and doesn't get to spend time outside because the neighborhood she lives in isn't very safe. She especially enjoyed going outside on her own to hug some trees, play with the dog, and hunt salamanders and bugs on the mountain. We had a lovely time, and while it was exhausting packing so much into two short days, we had a blast! It was a good reminder that we need to take care of eachother, but also, getting outside and getting some good exercise and fresh air is also so very important!
