Professional profile: Mohammed Juma Abdalla joined the Aga Khan University – Institute for Educational Development, East Africa (AKU-IED, EA) in 2007 as a lecturer. At the university he has been engaging in research and facilitating educational leadership courses at the master's level. Before joining AKU-IED, EA Abdalla worked for sixteen years as a secondary school teacher in Zanzibar and served for two years as a professional development tutor and Pemba Professional Development Centre coordinator. Abdalla has engaged widely in outreach activities, especially facilitating teachers and educational leaders professional development programmes in three East African countries, namely, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
