Jan B. Khumalo
Professional appointment: Senior Lecturer, North-West University, Mafikeng Campus Professional profile: I hold a PhD in Education Management from the North-West University (NWU) in Potchefstroom, South Africa. Prior to joining the NWU, I worked for the North West Department of Education as a Teacher for three years and thereafter as a Principal for twelve years. At the NWU I held several positions including Lecturer, Manager for Stakeholder Liaison, and Marketer. From there I was appointed as a Senior Lecturer for Educational Management and Leadership, which is my current position. In addition, I am a Coordinator for the BEd Honours programme on the Mafikeng Campus. I am also a member of the EDULEAD research niche which is an entity that conducts research on educational management and leadership at the NWU. Lastly, I have reviewed articles for both the South African Journal of Education and Perspectives in Education. My involvement in national committees and panels include chairing the BEd Review Panel at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in 2018 and reviewing funding applications for the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) in 2019.
