Today, we've been working on the lift design. We thought about adding a chain to the design, hoping that it would keep the second part of the claw vertical at all times. I began to work on this, however, we noticed that this plan would not work, and it would be the same as screwing the second part onto the lift.

Our next idea is to attatch a servo to the design, and control the extending with a remote control.

Mr. Newman and I decided to try a new design for the lift.  After trying different methods to try and fix the other one, we decided to try this idea. There are still a few issues with it but I think those are easy fixes. -Katie

This was just a wild idea we had, and I'm not that hopeful it will work. The idea was to use a motor and a sprocket to push and pull a C-Channel up and down while riding on a second C-Channel. The motor is attached on the bottom of the first C-Channel, and will push the second one using the holes in the metal. 

Possible Idea   They can't make the highest pole.
