Competition prep

Lauren:

We finished creating a drive train that works, and began to program our robot for the competition. We ran into the problem of the arm being too heavy, so we added a gear system in order to make it lighter. This seemed to help quite a bit, however this still wasn't enough. In order to fix the last bit of weight issues, we will go in and program "sections" for the claw to move instead of havnig full control with the controller. We also need to add a bit of weight to the front of the robot so it doesn't keep on leaning back.

Zoe:

Katie:

Today, Mr. Newman and I redesigned the arm and I took apart the claw. Basically, the idea is that the robot would pick up cones on the side we had originally planned for it to pick up on, but place them on the opposite side. I believe we are redesigning the claw and we just have to put it all back together.Â
