Follow General Medical Protocol.
Mandatory interventions:
a. Cardiac monitoring
b. Oxygen
c. IV access
Begin Isotonic Solution (NS or LR) 0.9% NORMAL SALINE Â infusion at wide-open rate.
If WHEEZING or DYSPNEA is present, administer ALBUTEROL SVN.
If RESPIRATORY DISTRESS, SHOCK, or DIFFICULTY SWALLOWING is present, administer EPINEPHRINE 1:1000 0.3 mL IM.
Administer DIPHENHYDRAMINE (Benadryl) 25 mg IV/IM
Administer DEXAMETHASONE (Decadron) 8 mg IV/IM
Observe for shock and if present, treat per Medical Shock Protocol.
