Indication
a. Refractory ventricular fibrillation or pulseless ventricular tachycardia after 4 (four) defibrillation attempts.
Continue CPR while preparing for procedure
Apply a second set of electrodes in an anterior-posterior configuration.
a. Assure that the electrodes are firmly attached & not loosely applied.
Charge both defibrillators to maximum joules.
Announce “CLEAR” & assure that no one has contact with the patient.
Push defibrillator buttons in rapid sequence (one immediately after another).
Perform a quick pulse check & resume CPR if needed.
If the patient remains in ventricular fibrillation or pulseless ventricular tachycardia after procedure, continue CPR & transport.
