History of Jamaican Food

Jamaica has a history of cultural integration because it was under both Spanish and British control, and this brought African slaves to the island. Indians and Chinese were also brought to Jamaica for cheap labor after slavery was abolished. This mix of cultures created numerous culinary traditions that include foods from all around the world.
