Front of the main building which has three classrooms, simulation lab, breakout area, break room/cafeteria, kitchen, instructor prep room, conference rooms and offices. In addition to offices for the fire school staff there will office space for the Litchfield County Fire Chiefs Emergency plan, Inc.
Maintenance/apparatus building is attached to the main building. It contains three apparatus bays (one which is designed to be used as a dirty classroom), locker rooms (with showers), PPE maintenance room, SCBA maintenance room, storage, mechanical room, and a mezzanine for storage and training.
Training tower and burn building under construction. The training tower will be five stories in high. The first floor will house a sprinkler lab. The second floor has walls designed for low-profile maneuvers. The fifth floor has a window designed for aerial master stream training. Each of the upper level floors has one or two manholes. The roof area and some of the floors have anchors for rope rescue training. This includes anchors on the training tower and burn building for traversing a high-line between the buildings. The burn building will three stories with multiple burn rooms. A temperature monitoring system will be installed. Utility, roof ventilation, chimney and overhaul props are just a few of the features being built into the building.
A storage tank is set-up to provide water for training. It includes a building for a fire pump, drafting area and pump test hood. There is a small pond with a dry-hydrant on site which can be utilized for drafting evolutions. The facility was designed to provide a route for training on tanker shuttles.
