Update August 11, 2018

Classroom/Administrative Building

Finishing work continued this past week. Carpeting was started. The conference room and instructor prep room have been done. The Office area was started. Unfortunately I was not able to get pictures as those rooms are locked. I will add pictures after this Wednesday's job meeting. Two beam clamps were added in the mezzanine area. These will be used to anchor props and rope training. We are in the process of having phone lines installed and scheduling the delivery of furniture. The gate was added to the railing at the top of the mezzanine.

Burn Building

The masons and thermal lining installers finished their work this past week. Railing work still continues. Most of the roof railings have been done. The railing for the stairs are scheduled for delivery and will be installed soon. More anchors and supports for rope training were installed. Thermal couplings were installed and wires run back to the control room. This will allow the fire school to monitor temperature of each burn room. Excessive heat is what destroys burn buildings prematurely.

Training Tower

I did not walk through the training tower this week.

Site

The paving was done on Monday this past week. The driveway into the facility, parking areas and around most the classroom/administrative building had the binder coat completed. Hopefully the binder coat will be done for the rest of the facility will done by the end of the coming week. Concrete was poured for a 70' X 70' training pad. a 10' section of concrete around the burn building and training tower will need to be poured prior to paving. All of the utilities have been installed underground and site preparation for paving is underway. Topsoil is being spread in preparation of the landscaping.

Drafting Tank

A manifold was added to the drafting tank this past week. This will be used during pump testing to return water to the tank.
