Over the last few months the Litchfield County Regional Fire School has attempted to keep everyone updated on the progress of our facility rebuilding project. We are now in the final stages. State inspectors have been on site and will be issuing either a temporary or complete certificate of occupancy soon. They should also issue a notice of substantial completion. We still have some work to complete, but we are close. The biggest item, final paving, will done this Monday and Tuesday.
This past week a group of instructors (picture below) were trained on the use and maintenance of the new propane training props. Instructors and staff have also been learning about all of our new systems.
Over the next few weeks we will start to move into our new facility. The current Firefighter I class will have their first session at the new facility on Saturday, October 13th.
We will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 11th at 11:00 a.m. This will give us the opportunity to publicly thanks those that help along the way. We will also have an grand opening ceremony on Saturday, October 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This event is designed to showcase our new facility. Both events are open to the public.
This will be the last update on the rebuilding progress. In the very near future we start a new section highlighting the training and events at the fire school.
Thanks to all that have followed our progress and we hope to see you soon at our new facility.
