MONDAY, 2ND OF JUNE
Our first day of the Erasmus exchange began with great excitement. At 8:00 a.m., students from both countries met at school, eager to start the week together. After settling in, we enjoyed a warm welcome and shared breakfast prepared by the students, which created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
At 11:00 a.m., we kicked off the icebreaker activities—fun games and group dynamics designed to help students get to know each other and begin building strong connections.
Later, the Polish students gave a presentation about their country, culture, school, and traditions to both Primary and Secondary students. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Poland directly from our guests.
To finish the day, we participated in creative and collaborative workshops before gathering for a group lunch at school. The day was filled with energy, learning, and the beginning of many new friendships.
TUESDAY, 3RD OF JUNE
On Tuesday. First, we got to school at 8, and until 9, we Spanish students had regular class while the Polish students had free time. At 9, we all got together to do a project about the SDGs with our Biology and Geology teacher, until 10:30, when we went to the city center, where we explained the most important monuments of León to them. We returned to the school, and everyone went home to have lunch. In the afternoon, we went to the shopping center to buy things and then to Paula’s restaurant to spend the evening and have dinner together.
WEDNESDAY, 4TH OF JUNE
On Wednesday, we started the day by visiting the Valporquero Caves, where we enjoyed their large rock formations and abundant water and humidity. After this wonderful walk, we headed to El Faedo, where, after a stop at the supermarket, we hiked through the mountains to reach the forest. We found the hike a bit long, but it was very fun.
An hour after our arrival in León, we met up at Candamia, a park where we enjoyed nature and the afternoon with lots of games and experiences. A great day with our Polish friends.
THURSDAY, 5TH OF JUNE
On Thursday we went to Astorga, a large and important town in León, 45 minutes from the city. When we arrived we had a chocolate with churros and then we did a search of different places in Astorga. Afterwards we visited the inside of the Gaudi Palace with an audio that told its history depending on where you were. When we left we went for lunch, where we all enjoyed a meal with friends and then free time to buy souvenirs. But one of the best parts was the Museum of Chocolate, where we learned about the creation of chocolate and we tried different types of it. In the evening, we went to Carmen's house for dinner, where we sang and ate sharing laughs and learning about each other's languages.
FRIDAY, 6TH OF JUNE
Today, Friday, June 6th, was our Polish friends' last day. We didn't want to start the day because it would be their last time with us, which made us very sad.
The day began with going to school at 8:00 a.m., and as soon as we arrived, we had a mass in honor of the Virgin Mary who represents the school. We took the opportunity to show them our school chapel. After that mass, we divided into mixed groups, Polish and Spanish, and went to the fourth, third, and second year ESO classes to introduce our classmates. They gave a presentation about their city and interesting information about their country. Once the presentations were over, we all went to the library to do some group projects, divide up the activities, and discuss everything we had done together during the week. Once all the projects were finished, we had a break, and then the last few hours of the morning were dedicated to presenting the projects and everything we had accomplished. At the end of the morning, at 2:00 p.m., we had lunch at school to say goodbye to our Polish friends. We were a little sad, but happy for the wonderful time we had had all week. When we finished, we each went home, and in the afternoon we had a meeting at the church to prepare for confirmation, only for the 4th-grade students. After that meeting, all of us who participated in the exchange went to show them another part of downtown León, so they could see and buy whatever they wanted and needed. After that time showing them the typical and most famous sights of León, we took them to see the most significant sights of León: the bars and tapas, all the streets where they could have tapas and relax. When we finished, we went home, since they had to get up very early the next day for us to leave.
