We have just arrived in Chirpan (Bulgarian: Чирпан) a town on the Tekirska River in Stara Zagora Province of south-central Bulgaria.
We feel really excited about this experience, which is part of Erasmus KA229 project Healthy eating and movementfor a better quality of life.
It was our first day in Chirpan and we felt really nervous about visiting the school and meeting our partners in the project.
As it was planned, we went to visit the "High School Peka Kracholov Yavorov" . When we arrived there, students and teachers were waiting at the playground to give us a warm welcome.
During the previous months we have been working in several tasks related to our project "Healthy eating and movement for a better quality of life".
We have also analysed all this information to be able to compare it with the rest of countries involved in the Erasmus programme.
Then, we went to the conference room where teachers and the headmaster talked about bulgarian educational system and nutritional facts about students. Moreover, we were be able to attend to primary and classes.
Furthermore, at lunchtime we could enjoy bulgarian typical food at Haramii restaurant. It was delicious!
After that, students from different levels performed folk dances from their country.
It was a wonderful day!
During our second day in Bulgaria, we went to the high school and we were making small souvenirs. It was amazing!
We could enjoy bulgarian typical food cooked and presented by families, students and teachers.
In the afternoon, we went to visit Green Balkans Organization in Stara Zagora.
We feel quite comfortable in this marvellous city!
Today, we wake up really early and we left to Plovdiv, the second biggest city in Bulgaria. There we have the chance to visit the old city center and the ancient theatre.
In the afternoon, we enjoyed free time around the city and we were buying some souvenirs.
We love this city!
Today, we could enjoy a cultural tour to Bachkovo eco trail and the second biggest monastery in Bulgaria.
We learnt lots of things about this fascinating culture!
We were visiting Asenovgrad where we could enjoy a special breeze called vechernik, which literal means night breeze.
We also programmed the activities we should developed with students at school during the following months and we set the dates for the next staff meetings.
In the afternoon, we had our farewell dinner at Midalidare Hotel & Spa.
We received the certificates of attendance, we made an evaluation of the meeting and they gave us a regional souvenirs. The dinner was amazing with traditional Burgarian dances.
It was Friday and it was our last day in Sofia. We visited the old town with the magnificient Alexander Nevski cathedral.
After that we were walking through Vitosha Boulevard and we entered in Santa Sofia Basilic.
Then, we were be able to enjoy a tradiional Bulgarian meal.
