DAY 1 - FAMILY DAY
On Family Day, everyone enjoyed a different activity. Some had a meal with their families, played football, or visited a Christmas market. Others were lucky enough to already be in Amsterdam and take a boat tour to explore the city. However, what really matters is that we all had a great time with our families and are excited to discover even more.
DAY 2 - HOST SCHOOL
Today we visited the school of our host students. Some of us went by bike, others by scooter, and the rest walked.
We started the day with an ice-breaker activity to get to know each other better. After that, the teachers explained our first task: calculating our carbon footfrint and finding out how many Earths we would need if everyone lived like we do.
Then we had a tour around the school, where we visited several classrooms. During the break, we went outside and visited a supermarket nearby.
When we returned, we watched a film and later shared our opinions about it. At lunchtime, we talked with Dutch students, although some conversations were also in Spanish.
In the afternoon, we worked in pairs to create a poster about sustainability and presented it to the rest of the group.
After the school activities, some students went home while others went to the shopping centre.
DAY 3 - DELFT
We visited Delft today, a city we found incredibly beautiful and full of unique charm. We started the day with a peaceful boat trip along the canal, which allowed us to enjoy the scenery and learn a bit about the city’s history from the water. After the tour, we had some free time to read, walk around, and explore the streets on our own.
Later, we met up with our exchange partners and asked them a series of questions about Delft and its sustainability efforts. We learned how the city promotes environmentally friendly practices, protects its historical heritage, and encourages the use of local products.
As part of our sustainability project, we were taken to a local market where we received a special challenge: with only 10 euros, we had to buy all the ingredients needed to prepare a sustainable, traditional dinner from our home country for our host families. We compared prices, chose seasonal and local products, and discussed which typical dishes we could cook. It was a fun and meaningful activity that made us reflect on responsible consumption and how to reduce food waste.
After completing our shopping, we returned to our host families to prepare the meal and spent the evening with them.
DAY 4 - FLOATING FARM AND ROTTERDAM
Our day began at school, where we all met before heading together to the train station. Today’s destination was Rotterdam, a beautiful city we had been looking forward to visiting. We took several trains before reaching our first stop: a cow FLOAT farm, where a guide explained how the farm operates and what they produce.
After the visit, we took another train to the city center and explored a sort of shopping area with many different stores. There, we got to try several traditional foods. Afterwards, despite the heavy rain, we took a short walk around the city.
When we returned from the excursion, each of us went our separate ways—some spent time with their host families, others went to their corresponding homes, and a few went by train.
DAY 5 - SUSTAINABILITY AT THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Yesterday, we spent the day at our host school accompanied by the students and teachers. We were asked to analyse the sustainability of our own neighbourhood and compare it with that of our Dutch partners. Afterwards, we prepared a presentation to share our findings with the other groups.
Later in the afternoon, they organised a farewell party for us, during which we received the certificates for this Erasmus mobility. It was a meaningful and memorable way to conclude our experience.
DAY 6 - GOUDA EXPERIENCE
On Friday, we went on a trip to the city of Gouda. When we arrived, we went straight to the tourist office, where we asked for several maps to help us find our way around. Using these maps, we had to choose four iconic places that caught their attention the most. Afterwards, each group recorded a video in which they presented these monuments, explaining their name, origin, and the functions that take place there today.
When the activity was finished, we had some free time to enjoy a pleasant walk around the city. We strolled through the historic streets, admired the traditional architecture, and spent a very enjoyable time with our classmates. It was an educational experience and, at the same time, a perfect opportunity to discover one of the most beautiful cities in the Netherlands together.
DAY 7 - VISITING AMSTERDAM!
Today was our last day in the Netherlands. First, we took a tram to Amsterdam, then we went to visit the city centre. We visited interesting places such as the Anne Frank House, the Royal Palace, the Flower Market, and the Central Station. We had some extra time to buy some souvenirs. After that, we went to the airport to take the flight back home. We really enjoyed this wonderful experience in this country.
