This course is an opportunity to explore the exciting world of design with a focus of building and refining your unique style as a designer! Explore designer/ client relationships and further your understanding of print and digital graphics using design industry programs Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. You will gain the skill sets and have access to material to place your designs on products such as t-shirts, decals, posters, logos, and business cards.

Production Graphics 12 is an opportunity to expand, reflect and refine your knowledge of visual communications, the design process, and your role as a designer. Your design journey will take you through designer/client relationships, typography, imagery, branding, identity, and logo design while using design industry programs Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. You will gain the skill sets and have access to material to place your designs on products such as t-shirts, decals, posters, logos, and business cards.

Calling all paparazzi! Are you interested in photography, journalism or design? Do you have a solid work ethic? Then Yearbook 11 is for you! Yearbook 11 provides you with the opportunity to explore and expand your photography, communication and design skills while documenting school events throughout the year. This is a fast-paced course and requires: commitment, availability outside of school hours, independence, professionalism, flexibility and creativity. Our end result? The creation and distribution of our amazing RSS Yearbook!

If the answer to any of those questions is yes, then join Yearbook 12 and have a say in how your final year of high school is documented! Students will be using Digital Cameras, Photoshop and InDesign, experience or interest using these mediums is highly recommended. This is a fast-paced course and requires: leadership, commitment, availability outside of school hours, independence, professionalism, flexibility and creativity. Our end result? Photography 11 will provide you with the opportunity and skills to further develop your creativity and unique artistic style through the lens! From refining photo composition techniques to delving further into DSLR capabilities to studio lighting and photo-editing in Adobe Photoshop, this course is an opportunity for you to explore and build your skills within the exciting world of photography!
Digital Photography 12

Prerequisite: Digital Photography 11
Photography 12 focuses on exploring your creative voice as a photographer and applying your knowledge of composition techniques, DSLR camera functions, photographic styles, and photo-editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. You will have the opportunity to zoom in on the aspects of photography that interest you, while enhancing your skills as a photographer.
Digital Filmmaking Intro 11

Prerequisite: None
This is an introductory semester course which focuses on the three main disciplines of digital filmmaking: pre-production, production and postproduction. The pre-production section is a combination of written assignments and “hands-on” labs. You will develop ideas into written treatments and storyboards. You will learn to use the digital video cameras, boom microphones, tripods and how to care for equipment. The production section will teach you how to organize your shots, use different camera angles and techniques. The post-production section explores digital video editing. You will learn basic editing, creating transitions, “laying in” sound and music, special effects, titling and adding credits. Although some of the course concentrates on individual work, much of the time you will be working in groups. A creative imagination is essential. This course is a prerequisite for Advanced Digital Filmmaking and Broadcast Journalism.
Digital Filmmaking Advanced 12

Prerequisite: Digital Filmmaking Introduction
This course will allow students to further develop their digital filmmaking skills that were acquired during the introductory course. Students will be given the opportunity to work with more advanced concepts and develop their own ideas. Students are expected to participate in all class activities.
