Accounting 11

Accounting 11 is an introductory accounting course that will provide students with a broad introduction to accounting principles and practice. Accounting is the process of keeping track of the financial performance of organizations. This is a very hands-on course, where students will practice applying accounting concepts through various activities, preparing financial documents. Most course activities will be completed using computers - focusing mostly on the use of Microsoft Excel and Sage Accounting. No prior computer expertise is necessary, as all software skills may be learned as needed. This course is a must for any student intending to enter the business world, considering a career in business or taking business courses at a postsecondary institution. What a great skill to add to your resume! Note: Students completing Accounting 11 & 12 with a 75% or higher final grade can earn Okanagan College credit for BUAD 111 (Introductory Accounting) in their Business Administration diploma or degree program.

Accounting 12

Prerequisite: None

This is a practical hands-on accounting course building on the knowledge students have attained through Accounting 11. Students will apply knowledge of accounting through a variety of computer-based projects using Microsoft Excel and Sage Accounting software. Students will learn how to complete an accounting cycle for a service and merchandising business. Also, concepts related to payroll accounting, budgeting, and financial statement analysis are introduced. This course is highly useful for students considering a career in business, especially if interested in the fields of accounting or bookkeeping. Again, what a great skill to put on your resume! Note: Students completing Accounting 11 & 12 with a 75% or higher final grade can earn Okanagan College credit for BUAD 111 (Introductory Accounting) in their Business Administration diploma or degree program.

Marketing and Promotion 11

Prerequisite: Entrepreneurship and Marketing 10

Interesting in the basics of marketing then this class is for you. Expanding on the topics covered in Entrepreneurship & Marketing 10, this class will dive deeper into the world of business with a primary focus on marketing and promotions. Marketing techniques, branding, pricing, promotion, target marketing, and production will all be examined. This course uses the framework of SD23's amazing iGen Challenge (igc23.com) so that students will be able to apply their learning to an actual business that they have created. This course is highly recommended for those students considering a career in business and/or looking to expand their understanding of how to make money.

Entrepreneurship 12

Want to take control of your time as well as learn how to make serious money? Then this is your course. We will dive deeper into the fascinating world of business and entrepreneurship. This class will provide both theoretical and practical business experience so that students will be able to come up with an actual business idea and then execute that idea for monetary gain. This course uses the framework of SD23's amazing iGen Challenge (igc23.com). This class is a must for students interested in self-employment as a career option and/or who are looking to study business or go into business in the future.
