Architectural Drafting and Design: Interior Design is a technical program that addresses psychological, physiological and sociological needs of individuals by enhancing the environments in which they live and work. Students will use knowledge and skills related to interior and exterior environments, construction, and furnishings to make wise consumer decisions, increase productivity, promote sustainability, and compete in industry.

Work-Based Learning opportunities may include:
Internship - gain hands-on experience by interning with a local interior designer or retail materials/product vendor
Job Shadow - spend a day or more observing an interior designer, real estate stager, project manager, or lighting expert
Service Learning Project - apply your knowledge and skills by volunteering for a local homes tour (such as Austin NARI, Austin AIA, Austin HBA) or contribute your expertise by taking on a project to support your local community
Competitions - while not direct work experiences, participating in FCCLA competitions can involve development of practical skills and simulated real-world scenarios (ex: Interior Design STAR event)
Mentorship - seek out mentorship from an industry professional for feedback/guidance as you develop your portfolio
Field Trips and Guest Speakers - gain understanding of a variety of career paths and insight into the industry from professionals
