The Graphic Design and Interactive Media: Graphic Design and Illustration Program of Study explores the occupations and educational opportunities associated with designing graphics o meet specific commercial or promotional needs, such as advertisements, packaging, or logos. This program of study may also include exploration into designing clothing, creating animation, or the generation of other visual media for video, web, and interactive applications.

Work-Based Learning opportunities may include:
Internship - gain hands-on experience by interning in a marketing and communications department or with a graphic design firm
Job Shadow - spend a day or more observing a career in graphic design, such as an art director, UX/UI designer, or brand designer
School-Based Enterprise - support in creating graphic designs as part of services offered at your school
Competitions - while not direct work experiences, participating in SkillsUSA competitions can involve development of practical skills and simulated real-world scenarios (ex: Advertising Design competition)
Mentorship - seek out mentorship from professionals for feedback/guidance as you develop your portfolio
Field Trips and Guest Speakers - gain understanding of a variety of career paths and insight into the industry from professionals
While most of these course opportunities don't apply to Program of Study completion, some may. Students are advised to consider them to strengthen preparation.
