The Agriculture Technology and Mechanical System Program of Study explores the occupations and educational opportunities associated with welding and fabrication, electrical, plumbing and concrete construction skills. Students can apply knowledge of safe working practices (OSHA) and engineering technology to agricultural problems concerned with power and machinery. This program of study will also cover AWS SENSE (welding) certifications.

Work-Based Learning opportunities may include:
Internship - gain hands-on experience by interning with local equipment dealerships, contractors, or irrigation company
Apprenticeship - experience on-the-job-training and secure industry licenses through our City of Cedar Park Public Works Apprenticeship
Job Shadow - spend a day or more observing a welder, equipment mechanic, or at a manufacturing facility
Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) - apply knowledge through an individualized project such as repairing equipment, maintaining irrigation systems or building agricultural structures
Service Learning Project - collaborate with local organizations to repair, design, and/or build structures
Competitions - while not direct work experiences, participating in FFA competitions can involve development of practical skills and simulated real-world scenarios
Field Trips and Guest Speakers - gain understanding of a variety of career paths and insight into the industry from professionals
