Please note that we are a 4x4 Block Schedule school, which means you take 4 classes per semester, which run from August until December and January until May. Each semester has 2 grading periods.
If you enter ILHS at the very end of a grading period or after the completion of the first few weeks of class and you have been attending a different school taking courses until the point of transfer, we will do our best to match the classes you are entering with, so you may continue those courses for credit.
For any of the courses you enter with that we do not offer or that are full, you will not be able to earn credit for those courses, and it may be better to complete them at your current school. For any of the four courses (within the semester) we cannot match, we will provide you with a course(s) that you will audit (and not earn credit- however, you must complete all work since the course will still be listed on your transcript). Once the new semester starts, you will be placed in 4 new courses where you will be able to earn credit.
If you enter ILHS at the very end of a grading period or after the completion of the first few weeks of class and you have NOT been attending a different school taking courses until the point of transfer, we will assign you 4 courses to audit (and not earn credit-however, you must complete all work since the course will still be listed on your transcript). Once the new semester starts, you will be placed in 4 new courses where you will be able to earn credit.
It is illegal in South Carolina to be enrolled in more than one school at a time, so you may not enroll at ILHS if you plan to continue taking courses at your previous institution- even if it is online or international.
Please be sure the school you are transferring from is accredited. Be ready to show proof of accreditation or coursework and assessments from your time there to be able to prove the necessary hours have been completed to earn credit in South Carolina.
