When you complete the Recommendation Request form, please be sure to provide details and dates, if possible. Do not be shy! Brag away! Think of everything you have done or participated in over your high school years. The more you tell us, the more we can say in our recommendation letters. As ninth graders, get involved, so you have plenty to say by fall of senior year!

Please note: Please complete the Request for Recommendation Form and share it with the person you are asking at least two weeks before the recommendation is due. The form also can be found in the counseling office. 

Please understand that the person you ask may respectfully decline your request if they are unable to provide a recommendation, including if the request is made with insufficient time to complete it. Be sure to ask someone who knows you well and can speak positively about your strengths, character, and accomplishments. 

Each fall ILHS holds College Application Day, where you can apply to SC colleges (and sometimes others) for free. Watch you email for a sign up in the fall. In the meantime, here are questions you can be asking as you gather information about colleges:
