USCL will be releasing the sign up links for Spring 26 Registration for returning students and Orientation/Registration for new students soon. Please watch their website and your USCL email.
Applying
You must get approval from ILHS to apply for Dual Enrollment or the courses you take will
NOT be placed on your ILHS transcript
NOR will they count towards ILHS graduation
The entire application is now ONLINE. Please read the instructions completely!
If you complete it wrong, it will cause a delay to your application being processed.
(To log on, you are probably using your personal email and a password you created.
This will most likely be the process even if you are a returning student and have different log on info for my.sc.edu)
FOR FIRST-TIME Dual Enrollment students who want to start taking classes in the summer, you must apply for Summer and then again for Fall
All students RETURNING AND NEW must apply for Fall, each fall is a new academic year (fall acceptance covers you for fall, spring, and summer as long as you keep your GPA up) Please note- there are three summer sessions: May (AKA Maymester), June, and July.
**Note: You must be admitted before scheduling your advising session.
If you have not received your acceptance letter, please email USCL at uscldual@mailbox.sc.edu or call 803 -313-7073**
HOWEVER, wait until the appropriate time (i.e., you apply in February for the following Fall, but your application will not be complete until ILHS sends final transcripts in June, so you will not hear from USCL until July, so do not bother them until late July if you still haven't heard)

Please be mindful of changing dates each semester- If you do not apply by the dates listed each semester, you may not be able to use the LTAP funding and end up having to pay for the your courses at $75 per credit- most courses are 3 credits, so one course will cost $225.
From ILHS School Counseling: Sophomores also keep in mind- if you are going to try to complete a 60 credit associate's degree through USCL in time for your ILHS graduation, you will NEED to start taking classes this summer (starting after the successful completion of your sophomore year) in order to fit in all of the credits before your ILHS graduation. Remember you can always start those programs now and complete them after ILHS graduation by attending USCL full time after you graduate.
If you have already been admitted or you are a returning DE student, you must have already set up your USCL email, Blackboard, and Self Service Carolina- you NEED to be checking your USCL email DAILY!
Paying Your Bill
If you take less than 3 credits or more than 15 credits, you will have a bill. If you take a lab science, you will have a lab kit to buy (anywhere from $40- to around $240).
To see if you have a bill and to pay it:
Log into My.sc.edu - you are on the Lancaster 2 year college campus (it will ask you to use Duo Mobile to verify your account, so be sure that is set up- if you get a new phone after you set up Duo the first time, you will need to call the tech help desk)
Click "Student"
You can see your bill under: "Account Summary"
You can pay your bill under: "Payment Gateway"
Placement Tests
If a student wants to take a math (other than STATS 110) or a language course at USCL, they MUST take a placement test first. Students are only allowed to take the foreign language placement exam after they have completed two levels of the same foreign language at their high school. Math through Algebra 2 with Probability (Geometry with Statistics -> Algebra 1 -> Algebra 2 with Probability) needs to be completed at ILHS first. USCL Placement Exam website. We encourage you to take the test at USCL rather than at home online. Downloading Responder to your personal computer can be tricky- any noises picked up by Responder - like barking dogs, etc. could be construed as you cheating. Also any technical issues that may arise during the test can be handled by USCL staff if you are in person.

Get a jump on college with Lancaster County School District's Dual Enrollment Program. Offered in cooperation with the University of South Carolina-Lancaster, dual enrollment courses offer students opportunities to experience college rigor while working on their high school diploma. Grades awarded in Lancaster County Board-Approved courses are entered onto the high school transcript as well as the college transcript.
Dual credit courses are offered two ways at ILH:
Students can also take dual enrollment classes on the USCL campus in Lancaster. Students are responsible for their own transportation and subject to all rules and regulations traditional USCL students must follow. Students are also allowed to take some of the classes asynchronously.
How are dual enrollment classes funded?
Dual enrollment classes are paid for with SC Lottery funds. You must have a 3.0 GPA to qualify for those funds. The money you spend on DE classes will NOT reduce the scholarship you are awarded when you graduate from high school. HOWEVER, it is IMPERATIVE that you maintain a 3.0 GPA in those college classes, or you risk losing your lottery scholarship. Dual enrollment classes are on BOTH the high school transcript and your college transcript.
Who can take Dual Enrollment Classes?
Only Juniors and Seniors can participate in the Dual Enrollment program. However, sophomores can take DE classes the summer after their sophomore year if they have a 3.0 weighted GPA.

Courses
You may take any courses USCL has to offer. However, the courses listed below are the ONLY USCL courses that will be listed on your ILHS transcript and count for high school credit. If you are also working on a USCL associate's degree, you should cross references high school graduation requirements with the USCL degree requirements when planning your course schedules. Remember not all credits will transfer to your next college, so you need to do your research with that particular college.
Here is the link to the USC course descriptions- be aware that these are for the entire USC system, so not all courses will be available at USCL: https://academicbulletins.sc.edu/undergraduate/course-descriptions/
