You need to be sure to be checking your email and reply to the bookstore, so that they will prepare your books. You need to do this as soon as you know what classes you have on your schedule. You can request to pick up the books- the college bookstore is often open when the college is on break, so do not wait until the last minute to order and pick up books.
If you are in Mrs. Knight's USCL HIST111/112 class here at ILHS, this does not apply to you.
You need to go to the bookstore website - sign in with your USCL credentials
Input the Course Numbers and Section Numbers to see which books you need- check the boxes next to the books
You need to be sure to click "Submit"->check the 2 boxes->add your phone number and hit "Submit" again
If it is a hard copy, it can be shipped to you, or you can drive down and pick it up- be sure to say which when ordering
If it is a digital copy, your professor will have the book as a link in your Blackboard account in their course- you can access it for free
For Sociology 101- you need a code to access the digital book for free, so you do not have to pay for it- you get the code by ordering the "book" with the above directions- They will send you a card in the mail with a scratch off code to use on the link your professor provides to access the digital book in their course in Blackboard
Right now all LCSD students are getting fall and spring books for free. If this ever changes or for courses taken during the summer, there is a program where all students are automatically "opted in" for $25 per credit hour. If you feel you can get your books cheaper somewhere else, you can "opt out" of that program and purchase your books wherever you want, including the USCL bookstore. This never includes lab kits- those you always have to pay for separately if you are in a class that requires lab kits. Right now during fall and spring, do NOT "opt out" of that program because you are getting your books (hard copy and digital) for free.
The bookstore has been emailing people daily if you have not yet ordered your books, so please do not forget to be checking your USCL email daily for important announcements from the college and your professors. Do not forget to reach out for help sooner than later. Professors do NOT accept late work, no matter the reason.
