Attention Athletes: All students NEED a minimum of 3 full credits per semester in senior year (and 4 full credits per semester every other year),
so if you fail or drop any class that would put you under those 3 full credits,
you will become ineligible to play your sport. Eligibility is determined based on the previous semester to when you start the sport.
We encourage you to take at least 4 credits to give yourself a buffer.
Do not forget to pay attention to NCAA requirements as well.
Also keep in mind that colleges like to see that all students have a full schedule senior year.
All Rising Juniors need 8 classes total and 4 alternate electives. What classifies as an elective?
All ILHS CTE courses on the front can be used an electives or alternate electives, they just have to be taken in order
The LCCC CTE courses on the top back can be electives, but not alternate electives- pay attention to grade level- some have entrance exams- they need to be taken in order (2024 entrance exams = Cosmetology, EMS, Welding, Culinary Arts)
Under the ILHS Core Classes and Non-CTE Electives on the back, the following courses can be used as electives or alternate electives
any class in the General Electives box
in the History box- AP Euro, AP World, AP Psych, psychology, sociology, or law education
any class in the Band, Performing Arts, Art, or PE boxes

What is an IGP meeting? In South Carolina, an Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) meeting is a conference between a student, their counselor, and their parents or guardian. The meeting helps students plan their education and career path. The purpose is to review academic progress, career interests, and educational goals; discuss course selections for the next school year; help students align high school courses with college entrance requirements; and prepare a career major for high school and beyond.
