The Han Dynasty

Han Dynasty Farmers

Did you know in ancient China, farmers that showed up late for their job would be sentenced to death. However, some farmers who had escaped death started a rebellion against the Qin dynasty. This led to the rise of the Han dynasty. These rulers came and took over most of China and brought prosperity to the land.

Emperor Shi Huangdi

After former ruler Shi Huangdi passed away, his son became ruler of the land. The farmers who had escaped their untimely deaths started a bloody and gruesome rebellion against the Qin dynasty, which led to the Qin dynasty's end. The rebels suffered for power until Liu Bang, a peasant from the Han kingdom, started the Han dynasty in 202 B.C.

Han Dynasty Plaza

China prospered with the Han dynasty. Many crafts people, merchants, and government workers lived and grew up in large houses and there were also places packed with restaurants, businesses, and places for entertainment.

Chinese Peasants

Most of the Chinese people were peasants and lived in tiny, dirty houses. They lived close to their farms. Most peasants were not able to afford farm animals for the farm.
