Buddhism is one of the world's largest religions
This religion started about 2,500 years ago
Buddhism has 3 main beliefs: Karma, Rebirth, and Impermanence
Buddhism was based off the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama
The Eightfold Path
The eightfold path was the eight steps to get led to nirvana
The eightfold path would also end the suffering caused by the cycle of death
Eightfold path was also known as the middle way because it promoted a life between self-denial and happiness
Siddhartha Gautama
Siddhartha was a well known spiritual teacher during the 6th century
Siddhartha was often referred as buddha
Buddha believed in rebirth he taught the eightfold path that would lead to nirvana
Buddha spent the resort of his life teaching what he had learned.
Dharma
Buddha's teachings were also known as dharma
Dharma is the moral rights and duties of each individual
There are 4 types of dharma: Born with a gift, Shaped by situation, Shaped by others needs, Shaped by personal needs
Siddhartha's Questions
Siddhartha had given up everything to search for his answers to his questions
One of his questions was “What makes a holy man happy?"
He had that question when he came across an old man, sick man, dead man, and a holy man who was happy but poor
