Dear Brown School Family,
I wanted to take a moment to share a brief update with you. I will be out for surgery on Thursday, November 20th, and plan to return to work on Monday, December 22nd. During that time, Assistant Principal Dr. Brian will serve as Acting Principal.
You can rest assured that our school will remain in very capable hands. Dr. Brian is an outstanding leader who knows our students, staff, and families well. Additionally, Assistant Principal Sherri will continue to lead our middle school. Sherri is another brilliant, experienced leader who will ensure our systems continue during my absence. We will also have Susan French-Epps subbing for Assistant Principal Amy Thornton during this time period.
Most importantly, we have an incredible staff who care deeply about your children and consistently go above and beyond to make Brown a safe, welcoming, and inspiring place to learn. I have complete confidence that our work will continue without interruption.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. It means so much. I'm grateful every day for the students, families, and staff who make Brown such as special community.
Love,
Dr. Angela

If you are interested in mental health services for your student outside of the school setting, we are able to make referrals for you through Care Solace. If you are interested in my services with your student to start off the school year please reach out to me via the student support form and I will be happy to talk with you and find the best services for your student. I am hoping to do more groups this year, so if you have an idea that you think would benefit your child feel free to reach out!
In addition, I am holding the second annual Brown School Mental Health Fair on December 12 (12/12)! It will be a great opportunity for our students to meet local mental health providers, as well as organizations that are beneficial to mental health. We're excited to invite the Louisville Free Public Library, the YMCA, as well as the Louisville Science Center among several other groups to participate. This will be a great chance to find out what resources are available for your students, and we would love for parents to come and participate as well. Keep an eye out for more details as the event comes closer!
