I hope to see you in our building next week!

Got a question for the PTSA?
We hope to unveil our new website next week, along with the calendar and other information. Sorry for the delay.
Join us Sunday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm to do a clean-up around the school of all the outside spaces. This includes Peace park, sidewalks, ally, courtyard, and atrium. We want the school clean when families are coming in next week. We will do another clean-up later to do some work on our park for the Home Depot grant. If you are free to come - please sign up here so we can make sure we have enough water! We are going to be doing the following: picking up trash, weeding garden beds, spreading mulch, cleaning off the walkway and putting together new storae boxes. We will be providing gloves, garbage bags, and some rakes. If you have tools to help please bring them with you. Check out the sign up for more info.
We have several events that we need volunteers:
July 27th - Clean-up
See clean-up article for more info.
July 30th & 31st - Registration Days
We need help with selling merchandise and answering any questions new parents might have. There will be brand new families from all grades.
August 7th - Boo Hoo/YaHoo Breakfast
Welcome our new kindergarten familes as we serve them breakfast and answer questions they may have.
We would like to welcome our new PTSA members and invite you to join them. Welcome Kat S., Megan S., Robin L., Stella F., Dave F., Jennifer F., Angela P., Brian G., Mike N., Autumn N., and Nicholas N. Join Here.
Myth: PTA membership is only for moms.
Truth: PTA is for everyone! Parents, guardians, students, teachers, grandparents, administrators, school board members, aunts, uncles, community members, etc.
Just a few reminders - we have an onsite food pantry if anyone is in need. If you are in need of any school supplies to start the year, let me know. I would be happy to help!
There are several events throughout the city that will also provide free school supplies and have fun activities for the kids.

As we get closer to the beginning of the year, I want to lift up a fantastic and FREE tutoring/mentoring resource for middle school students. Educational Justice is a FREE program for students in grades 5th-8th where they are partnered with a high school aged student and receive tutoring and mentoring throughout the school year. Did I mention it's FREE! And, if your baby enjoys the program and sticks with it, they have the opportunity to become mentors/tutors themselves when they become high schoolers, which wont look too shabby on college applications. Please check them out as their spots fill up quickly.
As mentioned above, we have two new elective options for middle school students this year; Science Fiction Literature and Middle School Spanish. Some students will find these classes on their schedule. If you are interested in taking these course, or any elective changes to your schedule at all, during the first two weeks of school all students have the ability to request elective changes and that request form will be available early next month.
Finally, I am linking the google classroom invites below for each grade level. If you have any issues with this link, there will be ample opportunity for your child to join once school starts as well.
