MOVING TO SECONDARY SCHOOL
This week Scott McRoberts took the class for a session to discuss feelings they may have moving on to secondary school and gave them lots of useful tips for their transition. Everyone will have taken home a booklet they can share with you at home.
SPORTS DAY 2026
Well done to everyone for taking part and demonstrating excellent support for each other. Huge thanks to our House Captains who led teams for potted sports in both the morning and afternoon. The whole day was a great success.
We joined in a live assembly with other schools throughout the UK learning about his amazing work and hearing from people he has worked with.
We watched Planet Earth 3 with Primary 5 and 6.
Then we spent some time exploring our own school environment, while litter picking, planting poppy seeds and making bird feeders.
Welcome to our last term of Primary 7! It is going to be a busy one!
This week we had 3 class members represent our class at a maths competition in Dingwall Academy, they did us proud and came 2nd in the quick fire question round. On Wednesday 5 children took part in the McRobert Cross Country along with other schools in the Highlands and all did amazing. The class started a 7 week block of Resilient Kids to complete their 'Moving Up' programme. If your child is feeling worried or anxious, please take a look at the resources they recommend - https://highlandcouncilpsychologicalservice.store/home/children-young-people/worries-and-anxieties/
Wednesday was also Earth Day, to mark it we refreshed some of the school planters, planting strawberries and some flowers.
Continuing our class topic of WW2, we explored artifacts lent to us from Inverness Museum. It was very interesting reading newspapers, holding a grenade, trying on gas masks, seeing ration books that had been filled out and looking through an evacuee's suitcase and what they had packed.
We started a four week block of athletics in PE starting off with the beep test and circuit training. There were lots of red faces! Our aim is to improve our PB scores over this term, improve our general fitness and be sports day ready!
