Being PE Teachers
The class over the last 2 weeks have been planning in groups their very own PE lessons. Today they got the opportunity to put it into practice. Each group took some of the P3/4 class for a lesson. They all showed great team work and learnt what it is like to be a teacher.
VEX GO
The class have been loving exploring our new Vex Go sets which we have on loan for 6 months. It is an amazing construction system that teaches so much of the fundamentals of STEM.
This also leads perfectly into next terms school trip at the Newton Room in the UHI.
Lots of 'Robot Wars' coming up in P7!!
SAFE STRONG & FREE - BULLYING WORKSHOP
Kath and Selina from Safe Strong and Free came in to do our first bullying workshop.
We learnt lots of facts we were shocked at, what is classed as bullying and why people might bully others.
The ladies were very impressed with everyone's input into all the discussions. They will be joining us after the holidays for further workshops.

MATHS WEEK
As part of maths week we could not avoid the craze of shouting '6-7'!!!
So the class were given the task to explaining to me in 67 words what 6-7 even means and where it came from.
Then we chose 7 people to share their answers. The whole class were very engaged and loved sharing.
It has not stopped them saying it!
MATHLETICS COMPETITION
6 of our P7 class represented Ness Castle Primary at the Inverness Schools Mathletics Contest with 14 other schools this week. They all worked very hard together working out maths questions quickly and under pressure. Everyone of them did our school proud demonstarting excellent behaviour being respectful and well behaved. Well done!
On Friday we had great fun taking part in Kinross's Yearly competition on designing and making a paper aeroplane. The plane that travelled the furthest will be our entry into the competition. As you will see from the video we had lots of great travelling distances!
This week we had our first maths lesson with Ms Grant from the IRA. She showed us the method she would like us all to practise when using addition and asked us to show our answers on a whiteboard with our eyes shut.
She also told us what maths is like at the IRA and answered some questions we had about secondary school.
We look forward to having Ms Grant back next term for 2 sessions.
P7 were very lucky to have two visitors this week. We had Mark in from Ross County, who will be with us for the next 6 weeks and Steve from ‘Drum Fun’.
Everyone loved our session with 'Drum Fun'!! He had us all playing along in time to the beat and making up our own rhythm. It was interesting to experience all the different sounds that could be made with one drum. At P7 request, Steve let us play the drums for the last ten minutes in the dark which was great fun, everyone had amazing energy and some were even chanting! Huge thanks to our Parent Council who kindly paid for it.

OUR PRIMARY 7's 2025/2026
(2 children were off so I will update once everyone is in)
Welcome to our P7 class Blog. We had a great first week back, getting to know each other and catching up with friends. All the P7's have been excellent buddies to the new P7's. The class has helped the P1's get ready for break, play with them in the playground, show them how to be independent in the lunch hall and read to them in the library. At assembly Mason C received this week's Nessie Knighthood for going above and beyond in his role as a buddy, well done!
In class we have made a start creating our class charter. First of all, looking at the rights of a child and deciding which ones we think are important to us. Then discussed what we want our classroom to be like. We voted on our favourite class charter design, which we will create next week.
This week we said Goodbye to Dominic, we wish him good luck and all the best for his move.
