I am very proud of those who pushed yourself out of your comfort zone and took part.
We got such amazing lovely compliments!
CHRISTMAS SCHOOL DINNER!!
Air Pollution in Ness Castle
Last Wednesday, Shirley from the Environmental
Health Department at Highland Council came out to tell us all about air
pollution in Inverness. Her team has installed air pollution monitors
around our school car parks. She wants us to work with her looking at the
data the monitors produce and looking at ways we can improve. We have
already put up our first sign to tell parents not to leave their car engines
running while waiting in the car park.
We hope to do a lot more in the new year!
Our first P7 individual class talks are now all complete. The class could pick anything to do with the festive season. It was great seeing the variety of talks and things we learnt about.
Well done everyone!
IRA Ceilidh - the classes first transition event to the IRA went well. Lots of fun and sweating! The class were surprised by how many faces they knew from other schools. We were allowed to have our lunch in one of the classrooms after which gave them a chance to look around.
Whole School Panto trip was a great success!!
Safe Strong and Free - Workshop 4
To continue our learning about celebrating our differences and being kind to one another, we took part in learning a Bollywood dance and played on djembe drums from Kenya. It was great fun!
It was lovely to hear everyone talking about all the different cultures and traditions we have within our class and how we want to learn more about each other’s families.
P7 Fundraising at the Christmas Fair
Thank you to everyone who came and helped at the Christmas Fair and to Parent Council for giving us a few tables to fundraise. Everyone worked so hard with preparations, decorations and displays. We had a card stall, hair styling station, hand crafted gifts, lucky games and beat the P7 games table.
We were delighted to raise £210!! Well done everyone
Thanksgiving 2025
We all enjoyed learning from Liam about how he celebrates Thanksgiving in his house. He then planned an art activity for everyone, and we all had to think about what we were grateful for. Thanks Liam
World Childrens Day - 20th November
Huge thanks to our schools Rights Respecting Group who organised a whole day of fun. We especially enjoyed coming together as a school to watch a short film and having a dance.
Safe Strong and Free - Workshop 3
Following on from our previous sessions looking at bullying, why it happens and what we can do to stop it. Safe Strong and Free worked in partnership with the African Caribbean Asian and mixed Heritage Association to tackle the topic of racism.
We had the most amazing open discussions with lots of excellent questions. We looked at discrimination against culture, heritage and tradition.
Then we learnt about how we look different by our different skin types, and it is okay to ask people what they want to be referred to, eg black, white, black/brown. As this is only words to describe someone's skin type.
We can't wait for our next session on 1st December, when we will have an active workshop joining in with different cultures music and dance.
Children In Need
P7's first charity fundraiser raised £230 for such a worthwhile cause. They sold biscuits at break time and entertained the whole school at lunchtime in the hall with lots of fun games - Beat the Goalie, Just Dance, Duck Duck Goose, Whats the Time Mr Wolf and Cross the Bridge. Well done everyone!!
Running My Own Fundraising Business
We are learning how to set up and run our own business to fundraise for the school.
We learnt that to start a successful fundraising business, we need a good idea first! After that we need a business plan to put forward to Mrs Gorman.
Class Trip to the Newton Rooms
'Robotics and Mathematics'
On Wednesday we spent the day using our STEM skills to solve problems. We used our knowledge of what we have learnt in class about circumference and perimeter and applied it to the tasks. We developed our programming ability with the robots.
Also, they had lots of fun getting on the bus with their friends and enjoying a day out the classroom together.
Welcome back to term 2 of Primary 7
We started off this term with our first P7 fundraiser, the Pumpkin carving competition and selling costumes donated by Tesco. We were delighted to raise £106 which will go towards our school trip and year books.
In PE we have started this term off with a four week block of Badminton. We have already become very good at doing rallies and working hard on serving. Next week, we will start learning how to record points in a match.
