Eden Court Trip
This week we also had the pleasure of attending Eden Court to enjoy a performance from the Scottish National Orchestra. They shared the story of ‘Yoyo & The Little Auk’ accompanied by a visual film with live orchestral music. The children were fantastic audience members and I was so proud of how well they represented the school. Thank you to our parent helpers for coming along to support us.
We had Nessie join us in P2/3 this week! The children loved sharing their learning and hopefully Nessie enjoyed spending the week with us too.
This week we:
· Identified vowels in words. We used the acronym 'Angry Elephant In Orange Underpants!' to help us remember them.
· Practised using ‘c’/’k’ and ‘ck’ sounds
· Continued our revision of number formation
· Identified the value of digits and partitioned them eg 37 = 30 + 7
· Represented numbers using tens and ones
· Developed our kicking skills playing ‘California Kickball’ – I was so impressed with how quickly the children picked up the rules of the game and they demonstrated super teamwork skills.
· Practised our descriptive writing using the ‘describing bubble’ - see below which character we described!
· Engaged with ‘Zero Waste Week’ – we discussed waste and how we can help reduce this. Children designed their own re-usable shopping bags and designed a mascot for reducing food waste.
