Turn editing on
In the appropriate section, click “Add an Activity or Resource” then follow step 3; alternately, you may select Edit settings from within a current assignment or forum and jump to step 4.
Select “Assignment,” “Open Forum,” or “Forum” and add assignment or forum student directions.
Note: these are the only types of Assignment submissions that can use the Turnitin plug-in on Moodle
Turnitin is OFF as the default setting. To use Turnitin for a given assignment or discussion board, scroll down to and expand the “Turnitin plagiarism plugin settings” section. Change Enable Turnitin to “Yes”.
Fill out all additional fields, as desired.
The subsequent settings are recommended, but may be changed to your preferences.
Click Save.
When students submit their assignment, they do not need to log into the Turnitin website. They simply upload the assignment in Moodle as they typically would. They will see “Turnitin status: Queued” next to their submission. Once the Similarity Report is available, they will see it next to their File Submission (if made available to students).
Select the assignment and then a student’s submission to grade in Moodle.
Click the percentage score icon to open the Similarity Report (opens in a new window).
Note: “Turnitin status: Queue” will appear if the Similarity Report hasn’t been generated yet (you may need to clear your cache if it’s taking a longer time than expected)
You can navigate the Similarity Report in the same manner as on the Turnitin website.
"Please note: assignments and discussions for this course will be using the integrated Turnitin feature. There is no need to upload to Turnitin; Moodle will do it for you. As your instructor, I will verify that your work is original, both assignments and discussions. After submitting, please look at your submission and click on the Turnitin score (may take a little while to appear). I will grade in accordance with the University Academic Integrity Policy in the course catalog as indicated on your course syllabus."
