Faculty often wish to verify if a student has completely viewed posted videos. The strongest means to do so is to create a quiz within your course with a single quiz question. The single question in this quiz would read as follows:
INSTRUCTIONS:
Completion of this activity requires that you watch 100% of the video below.
Please do not navigate away from this page. Viewing the video external to Moodle will not be counted towards your progress.
Please watch the video in its entirety in one sitting. Leaving this page will reset your progress upon your return.
You have unlimited opportunities to complete this activity.
Completion of this activity may be a prerequisite for accessing subsequent activities within this course.
To mitigate potential technical issues, please use the latest version of Google Chrome, with cookies and javascript enabled (default settings).
Followed by the desired video URL as shown below.
When a student then finishes watching the video and select Submit and Finish, the respective percentage viewed will appear as a grade. (e.g., 60/100 = 60% viewed) Please note, students will not be able to fast forward through the viewing.
Faculty can request a template to be imported to their course CRN directly. To do so, complete the Custom Course Import Request form selecting the Track Video View Progress Quiz. Upon receipt the Office of Curriculum & Instruction will import the template to your course it will appear as SAMPLE - Track Video View Progress as shown below.
