This forum available to all faculty is dedicated to faculty collaboration on the uses of technology to support learning. Faculty are invited and encouraged to share tips, techniques, technologies, and best practices used in their classes. For further insights into the Public Learning Community concept, see the ASCD publication, "What is a Professional Learning Community?" and Education World's "Best Practices for Professional Learning Communities."
Forum Guidelines:
As this forum is intended to provide an opportunity peer to peer sharing, it does not function as a help desk or service request area.
Instead, this space allows faculty to share with their colleagues what has been working for them in their classrooms or seek out advice from fellow faculty on new techniques or approaches to their (virtual) classes.
As with all online communications, remember that the written word can be misinterpreted, so be sure your posts are clear and mindful of your full audience of fellow faculty members. As you would advise your students, keep in mind to stay on topic, respect the variety of opinions or ideas expressed, approach your colleagues with patience and collegiality, and remember that the goal is to work together to uplift and support each other.
Site administrators will check in on the forum posts occasionally, primarily to identify any trends or emergent needs that will allow them to develop and provide supports for faculty that are aligned with their interests.
