Faculty has a number of technology alternatives to support student accommodations:
If faculty is teaching in one of our Virtual Live classrooms, they can opt to utilize the Virtual Live Classroom Hardware Instructions to facilitate the class. For a full list of the Virtual Live Classroom by either podium or cart technology, click HERE.
For all other classrooms, faculty can choose to bring the accommodated student into the classroom using our Synchronous Learning at IU procedures.
Faculty would advise the student to join the class via the CRN Google Meet code published in the course.
Simultaneously, the faculty would set up either their personal smartphone, iPad or Personal computer and join the same Google Meeting. The phone, tablet, or computer could then be positioned to view the faculty member in the front of the class using a stand.
Should faculty wish to record their lecture, he/she would need to switch to using Microsoft Teams. Create and share link to your lecture using the Teams instructions published in the Synchronous Learning at IU site and follow the Recording a Teams Session instructions.
Note: Faculty needing a stand for their phone or tablet or is in need of an iPad or computer to utilize this procedure should contact their Dean for assistance.
