This location is intended to share optional tools, extensions and resources to enhance both your synchronous and asynchronous classrooms. These resources provide information about developing, designing, and delivery high quality learning courses and was designed to support the Immaculata Faculty Forum: Electronic Public Learning Community (EPLC).
This forum is dedicated to faculty collaboration on the uses of technology to support learning. Faculty are invited and encouraged to share tips, techniques, technologies, and best practices used in their classes. For further insights into the Public Learning Community concept, see the ASCD publication, " What is a Professional Learning Community? " and Education World's "Best Practices for Professional Learning Communities."
As this forum is intended to provide an opportunity peer to peer sharing, it does not function as a help desk or service request area.
Instead, this space allows faculty to share with their colleagues what has been working for them in their classrooms or seek out advice from fellow faculty on new techniques or approaches to their (virtual) classes.
As with all online communications, remember that the written word can be misinterpreted, so be sure your posts are clear and mindful of your full audience of fellow faculty members. As you would advise your students, keep in mind to stay on topic, respect the variety of opinions or ideas expressed, approach your colleagues with patience and collegiality, and remember that the goal is to work together to uplift and support each other.
Site administrators will check in on the posts occasionally, primarily to identify any trends or emergent needs that will allow them to develop and provide supports for faculty that are aligned with their interests.
Users have the capability to search this forum by entering keywords of interest in the EPLC Forum Search field in the EPLC Forum.
This section of the Faculty Resource Center will contain downloadable documents, tutorial videos, and helpful websites to make time in the classroom more effective and efficient. The site will introduce the basics, then advances to best practices. As we grow and learn together, more content will be added to this location to support your goals.
